October 1 – 7 Freight Capacity Remains Tight
The October 2017 freight trends show that load-to-truck ratios are still high for all three trailer types. The national average van rate has reached a high of $2.09 per mile for the first time since December 2014. Relief and rebuilding efforts in areas affected by Hurricanes Harvey and Irma have put a squeeze on capacity nationwide.
