Freight Trends October 4-10

Load Volume Drops 11%

Load posts fell off after a surge at the end of September. Van spot market rates slipped 1 cent, while reefer rates fell 5 cents as a national average. Flat rates were down 2 cents, including a 1 cent drop in the average fuel surcharge.

Flatbed Load-To-Truck – 7.9%  – 7.5%  – 66% 
Flatbed Rates (Spot) – 1.0%  – 1.5%  – 15% 
Reefer Load-To-Truck – 15%  – 1.2%  – 48%
Reefer Rates (Spot) – 2.5%  – 1.0%   – 13%
Fuel Prices + 0.6%  – 3.5%  – 34%
