Average Hourly Earnings
According to the Bureau of Labor Statistics, average hourly earnings for all employees on private nonfarm payrolls continue to rise. Average hourly earnings for November were $34.10 as opposed to $32.80 in November 2022, a 4% increase year over year.
Contract Staffing Employment
According to the American Staffing Association, contract staffing employment for the four weeks ending November 26th was down 7.6% year over year. Staffing revenue for 2022 was at a historic high, so although revenue is down this year, there is still much optimism as we close out 2023 and look forward to 2024.
Employee Quits Rate
The employee quit rate was as high as 2.6% in May of this year but is currently at 2.3%. Click here for the interactive map at the BLS website.
Job Openings
According to BLS, the number of job openings has decreased to 8.7 million from 9.6 million just 4 months prior. Job openings increased in health care, government, and manufacturing. Employment in retail trade declined.
