Companies with slow-paying customers use factoring to eliminate the waiting for customer payments. Instead of waiting for 30, 60 or even 90 days for a customer payment, invoice factoring supplies an immediate, significant cash advance on your invoice.
It’s not unusual for small and mid-size businesses to have credit challenges. At Scale Funding we can work with you. Our approval process is based much more on your customers’ credit and payment history rather than that of your business.
Banks have strict lending criteria and often businesses will not qualify for bank financing or lose their bank line. If the bank doesn’t work with you, you’re not out of options. Scale Funding does not have the strict financing conditions like banks. Factoring is an excellent option for businesses that banks turn down.
Securing financing is one of the most significant obstacles to success for startups and rapidly growing businesses. With invoice factoring, you will have cash available each time you invoice your customers. With cash on hand, you will be able to meet your financial obligations, and take advantage of new opportunities coming your way.

Located in Elkhart County, the city of Elkhart is 15 miles east of South Bend and 110 miles east of Chicago. It also neighbors Indianapolis to the north. Despite sharing a name with the county, Elkhart is not the capital of Elkhart County. That privilege goes to the city of Goshen which lies to the southeast of Elkhart.
In 1787, the Northwestern Territory was organized, and Native Indians inhabited the region that is Elkhart today. These tribes: Ottawa, Chippewa, and Potawatomi, lived in the area. A village named Pulaski was established in 1829. It had a mill, a post office, and a few homes north of the St. Joseph River.
A couple of years later, a Dr. Havilah Beardsley traveled from Ohio and bought a one square mile piece of land from a Potawanian chief called Pierre Moran. Moran was half French, half Native American. The doctor bought the land to establish a town to rival Pulaski. He named the city Elkhart and in 1939, the Pulaski post office was changed to Elkhart.
Elkhart was established by settlers who moved to the area from New England, who were descended from the English Puritans and were known as Yankees. In the 1890s, other Europeans, especially the Germans and the Irish began to make their way to Elkhart County. Most of them, however, were not recent immigrants from their native countries. Instead, they moved from the Midwest, primarily Ohio, where they had built settlements.
From the late 19th century moving into the 20th, musical instrument factories began to spring in the region. Other factories like mills and the Miles Medical Company were established, and the economy started to take shape. The first recreational vehicle company opened in Elkhart in 1934, setting the stage for other companies like it to get set up all over the region for the remainder of the decade.
With all these industries coming up, the economy grew steadily. The onset of WWII brought inconveniences like rationing of materials. Once the war was over, Elkhart picked up where it had left off, and the economy was back on track. Elkhart has come to be known as the ‘RV Capital of the World’ since 1949.
The city’s name is believed to be of Germanic origin, but that is in dispute. On the one hand, a source claims that the city’s Island Park looks like an Elk’s heart, thus the name Elkhart. On the other, there is a source that alleges that a Shawnee Indian Chief called Elkhart, or in their native language, ‘Mihsheweteha (Elk-heart) gets the credit for giving the city its name. Other sources believe that the name originated from Mihšiiwiateehi (Elk Hart), Miami’s village name.
The Concord Mall is Elkhart’s major shopping mall. The city’s commercial sectors are not large because Elkhart is so close to the South Bend metropolitan area. There was a second shopping mall called the Pirre Moran, but it was pulled down in favor of a new development named Woodland Crossing. Elkhart’s residents prefer to cross over to the nearby Mishawaka for their shopping and dining needs.
There are two industries that stand out in this city:
The city is home to many RV and Boat manufacturers as well as van conversion companies. These include the following:
Some of these can be found in nearby regions like Wakarusa, Goshen, Nappanee, and Middlebury.
In addition to the moniker ‘RV Capital of the World’, Elkhart is also known as the ‘Band Instrument Capital of the World’. Other industries of note in the town include:
The Miles Medical Company was founded in 1884 by Dr. Frankline Miles. It is known for products such as Flinstones Vitamins and Alka-Seltzer. Bayer bought the company in 1979, and it became part of the larger Bayer, Inc which is based in Pittsburg. The company no longer does any manufacturing in Elkhart as of 2006. Many of its facilities were demolished and those that remained are not in use.
The Northern Indiana Brass Company, which is a fifth generation family enterprise, is located in Elkhart and has operated in the city for over 100 years. Another prominent brass company in the area is Elkhart Brass Manufacturing which is at the forefront of fire-fighting equipment manufacturing.
The city has experienced some economic troubles in recent times, which have resulted in the unemployment rate reaching 18.8 percent. It was bad enough that some of Elkhart’s unemployed were featured in ABC News February 2009 program.
These are the sights and sounds of Elkhart:
There are also a variety of Parks, pavilions, two skateparks, a Waterpark, golf courses, and greenways. The downtown Riverwalk is a facility worth a visit. It features an ice-skating/roller-blading path, depending on the season.
