Invoice Factoring & Accounts-Receivable Financing as Your Business Funding Solution

Invoice factoring and accounts receivable financing are interchangeable finance terms that provide companies with quick cash to fund their businesses.

Our Baton Rouge invoice factoring programs work by selling your receivables to us in exchange for quick cash. The day that we receive your invoices, we transfer a competitive advance on the gross amount. Once your customer pays the invoice 30, 60, 90 or more days later, we’ll remit the remaining amount to you, minus our low factoring rate.

While many think a business loan or line of credit is the right way to fund a company, it might not always be the quickest or available solution.

Baton Rouge, Louisiana

factoring companies in Baton RougeBaton Rouge is an eclectic, culturally rich city located on the eastern bank of the Mississippi River in southeast Louisiana. As the capital and political hub for the state, Baton Rouge is often called “Capital City.” With a population of about 230,000 people, Baton Rouge is the second largest city in Louisiana.

History

Native American settlements existed in the area of present day Baton Rouge for thousands of years before French explorers traveled down the Mississippi River in 1699. Although they didn’t set up a permanent settlement at the time, the first French explorers were responsible for the name of the city, as they saw a red pole on the bluff and began to call the area “le baton rouge,” meaning “red stick” in French. The first French settlement was a military post that followed a few years later, but it remained small. In 1755, the British drove thousands of Acadians out of the maritime region of Canada during the Great Expulsion. Many of the displaced Acadians settled in the Baton Rouge area and became known as Cajuns. Baton Rouge was ruled by a number of different governments, including French, British and Spanish, before Louisiana was granted statehood in 1812. Incorporated in 1817, Baton Rouge was named the state capital in 1849. A chain of events during the Civil War, including the Union Navy capturing the city in 1862, led to the Battle of Baton Rouge, during which a large portion of the city was damaged and burned. In the early 1900s, Baton Rouge became an industrial hub, as it provided a strategic location for the production of natural gas, petroleum and salt. The petrochemical industry took off in the 1950s and 1960s and is still an important industry for Baton Rouge today.

Manufacturing

The manufacturing sector, with an emphasis on chemical manufacturing, represents a large portion of the economy of Baton Rouge. One of the leading chemical manufacturing companies in the city is ExxonMobil, which is the largest manufacturing employer in Louisiana. The company operates five facilities in the Baton Rouge region and employs more than 6,800 people. Another 30,000 jobs, or one out of every eight jobs in the Baton Rouge area, are somehow related to ExxonMobil. The company has a significant effect on the city’s economy, as it is responsible for approximately $94 million in local taxes and $491 million in payroll each year. Other chemical manufacturers in Baton Rouge include The Dow Chemical Co. and BASF Corporation, who, when combined, employ about 12,000 people. In addition to chemical manufacturers, Baton Rouge is home to a wide range of manufacturing companies producing a variety of products, including Pod Pak International (compostable coffee and tea pods) and Jogler (magnetic level gauges).

Technology and Software Development

Baton Rouge is home to a growing technology sector, which specializes in software development and digital media. IBM recently opened its new Client Innovation Center in Baton Rouge, which supplies software development and software maintenance services to its customers in the United States. In addition, the Innovation Center provides computer science related training programs and technology services, including application development, application management and system integration. Electronic Arts (EA), one of the largest entertainment software companies in the world, also has a significant presence in Baton Rouge. Located on the main campus of Louisiana State University (LSU), in the school’s $30 million Digital Media Center, EA employs more than 500 people at its video game testing facility. EA is housed in the same building as LSU’s Digital Media program, giving the company access to a wealth of new talent.

Music and Film Production

Louisiana has become a southern hub for film production, in part due to the tax incentives it offers for in-state productions. As such, music and film production has become a significant sector of Baton Rouge’s economy. The city’s Celtic Media Center is the largest film and television production studio in the state, with over 150,000 square feet of stage space spanning 40 acres. Celtic is a full service media center, with eight sound stages, a back-lot, office space and state-of-the-art post production facilities. Just a few of the productions shot at Celtic include The Fantastic Four, Battleship and True Blood. In addition, Baton Rouge is home to a number of audio engineering companies. One of these companies, PreSonus, was awarded Japan’s “Audio Excellence Award” in 2013. PreSonus, which manufactures audio and digital equipment and software, was founded by LSU grad Jim Odom from his garage in 1995 and now employs hundreds of people across four different countries.
