Eden Prairie is in the Twin Cities metro area, just southwest of Minneapolis. It is home to several large corporations.

One of the most interesting things to take note of would be the rich history of this city. The first inhabitants were Native Americans who were a part of the Great Dakota Nation. However, tribes fought over the land, with the Ojibwa overrunning the Dakota Nation to obtain the land, excluding present-day Eden Prairie. The fight between the tribes lasted over 10 years, until finally, the people of Dakota were driven out of Minnesota by the Ojibwa.

It’s also interesting to take note that the treaty that was made between the Native Americans and pioneers in 1851. One of these pioneers was John Cummin, who settled in the area. He was a scientist and a farmer who experimented with crops to determine which would grow best in Minnesota.

Over time, Eden Prairie started to grow as Minnesota officially became a state in 1858. Eden Prairie officially became a city in 1974.
