What Makes Factoring Different from a Bank?

The primary difference between our Salem business lines and a bank line of credit or loan is that we can get you funding in as little as three days. This means that we can approve your business in just 15 minutes, and make set up a breeze- even if your company is already factoring.

A bank loan or line of credit can take weeks, even months for approval. Furthermore, businesses are limited in their ability to get financing if they have bad credit or no credit. Even those with good credit can be capped on the amount of financing available. For many businesses in need of financing, the wait is simply too long or the approved amount is not enough.

With receivables financing at Scale Funding, we base our ability to fund on the creditworthiness of your customers. For more than 20 years we have built strong relationships with the major players in every industry, which is why we are the trusted funding partner for many businesses. What’s more: our funding amount grows with your business. Our programs start from $50K and go all the way up to $20MM monthly.

Salem, Oregon

Welcome to Salem, the capital of Oregon and the seat of Marion county. With a population of 161,637 at the 2014 census and located in Willamette Valley, Salem is the third largest city in Oregon after Eugene and Portland, and is less than an hour’s driving distance from both.

The city is not short of educational facilities; Salem is home to Corban and Willamette universities, as well as the popular Chemeketa Community College. In addition, Salem is a beautiful city with a serene environment and a low crime rate. Salem is nicknamed “the cherry city.”

History

Salem is a rich city- not just in landscape and beautiful buildings- but also because of its unique history. It was founded in the year 1842. But a Methodist mission led by Lee Jason moved to the area from New England shortly thereafter, following the Oregon Trail in search of new land.

Salem became the capital of Oregon in 1851 and it was incorporated six years later in 1857. The Native Americans who inhabited the area before the Europeans were from the Kalapuya tribe. They called the area Chimikiti, which translates to resting place. The new European settlers adopted the anglicized version of the biblical name ‘Shalom’ that is Salem, for the new city.

Economy

Early European settlers thrived on lumber business, taking advantage of the rich forest that the area was blessed with. Nowadays, the government employs a majority of the workforce, with over 28 percent of the population working for the government; however, agriculture is still a popular industry. The Willamette Valley wine industry is gaining national recognition due to the quality of its wines.

Salem has a job growth rate of 3.4 percent, an unemployment rate of 5.6 percent, and a predicted job growth rate over the next ten years of 41.38 percent. Income tax is at nine percent, with no sales tax. The income per capita is at an encouraging $23,201, and the median household income is improving too, at $46,273.

Salem may not have the glamour and busy life of some big cities, but it offers an atmosphere of comfort and a robust economy to support a decent living.

Tourism

Salem is a naturally beautiful city not far from Portland and Eugene.

Salem is a tourist’s paradise if you are seeking fun away from the busy life of large cities. There are many places to see: from quiet parks to cheese farms and the city capitol, expect to make memories that will last a lifetime.

Lovely Cheeses at Willamette Valley Company

If you care to have a taste of the best handmade cheese, then Willamette Valley Cheese Company is a place to visit. This is a family business with decades of history, and their products are certified organic with a commitment to quality. They love to care for their cows and are committed to the sustainability of the environment, so they do not use pesticides or herbicides on the farm. You can try their award-winning products in the tasting room.

Oregon State Capitol

The capitol has an amazing history. The capitol building we see today is the third to be built on this site. The earlier two were destroyed by fire. The latest capitol building is an architectural masterpiece, beautiful and elegant; a visit to Salem won’t be complete without a stop to view its massive edifice.

Minto-Brown Island Park

The park is a lovely place for outdoor activities. This is the largest park in the city of Salem, where native plants and wildlife are in their natural habitats. Isaac Brown originally acquired a portion of it in 1857, and that part became known as Brown Island to the west, while John Minto acquired the east side in 1867. His part was named Minto Island. Due to periodic flooding, restoration work added thousands of native plants and trees to the two islands, which provides a view that is a sight to behold for those who love nature.

Bethel Heights Vineyard

This is wine haven. A tour of Willamette Valley will expose you to the history of the area and the wine industry. You can even taste some fantastic wines, from a sample of the best brewers in the region. The staff is friendly and the environment is lovely. Salem is a place to be, but the Vineyard is the icing on the city’s cake.

Bush’s Pasture Park

Locals normally recommend this park as the favorite; a visit to the park will make you understand why the park is so popular. It specializes in families, with tracks design for competitions, several picnic tables and fields for various sports; for those who are interested in jogging and walking, there are dirt and paved trails. Pedestrians have gardens and woods to explore and restrooms are located at strategic places.

The city of Salem is a marvel that everyone should see at least once in a lifetime. The city lives up to its expectation: the land of peace.
